Nadal burned at 1.01!

Rafa Nadal, superhero. Well, a few punters might not be thinking that tonight. del Potro, having not won a set against the top three players before in abotu 8 matches, led by a set and a break, before Nadal fought back to a set all. Nadal then led 3-0 in the final set with two breaks. And that's when the money buyers would have stepped in. £421k at 1.01. OUCH! (Image shows percentage view, not prices)

Betfair sign huge sponsorship deal with Ascot racecourse

ASCOT today announces Betfair, the world-leading betting company, as the new sponsor of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which will be run for £1 million for the first time in 2009 (£850,000 in 2008). The sponsorship will run initially for five years as the centerpiece of a wide-reaching commercial partnership between the two parties. ‘The King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (sponsored by Betfair)’ is the headline agreement in a substantial seven-figure deal over five years that Ascot and Betfair believe will develop into a wider commercial relationship. Ascot’s late July meeting will now be presented as ‘Betfair Weekend featuring The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes’..... Full article here Interesting times ahead. Looks like I'll be at Ascot a bit more regularly then!

i like this guy's work

Sounds a lot like Jon Barrett, the tennis commentator... Anyway, this is the stuff we want to get up and running with Betfair Education, but this guy has done a great job already. If you like this, he has several more on YouTube, just look up 'betfair trading'

football galore

So many games tonight, not enough time to analyse them all if that's your thing. Can't say I really get into the game, just way too many games to get excited about it, but when all else fails, lay England, either for the result, or just to trade out when the price drifts because they don't score early.

new strategies

I've just added some more articles to the Betfair Education site, and am always looking to add more content particularly for the punter who wants to take his trading up to the next level. Here's an article about Price Leveraging . There'll be more to come on the site, and keep an eye on the monthly newsletter which is sent out to UK customers. We have a section in there called Strategy of the Month which throws up a few new ideas for you to ponder. Not saying they'll all work for you, just sowing some seeds that might turn into success for you.

gotta love the bikes

I used to really enjoy F1, but the more it becomes about technology and tactics rather than the skill and guts of the driver, the less I care about it. Motor sports that are far more level - NASCAR, MotoGP etc are more exciting to me as a fan and also as a trader, because the lead changes frequently, and you never know who has won until the very end. Trading the lower classes of MotoGP is brilliant - highly competitive, markets with big margins meaning if you keep offering a price and not take too many risks, you can end up with a very nice book as above. And you don't even need to worry about the final result!
