Blue Diamond Preview

Headline act at Caulfield tomorrow is the Blue Diamond Stakes, the first Group 1 race of the season for the juveniles, worth a juicy $1.5 million. This race regularly throws up champions and while this edition doesn't appear to have a dominant superstar in its ranks, it is a cracking betting race at 7.0 (6/1) the field. To preview this particularly difficult contest, it's time to introduce some new blood to the blog.  Tim Guille,  @timbguille , appears on SEN’s new Saturday morning racing show, Racing Fix, is a tipster for mypunter.com and a contributor to a number of publications including Racing Victoria’s industry magazine, Inside Racing. ------------------------------------ Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes Group 1, 1200m, AU$1.5m for 2yo Caulfield, 24/2/18 1605 local, 0505 GMT Formguide Odds Comparison On Saturday at Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne one of the showpiece events on the racing calendar, the Blue Diamond Stakes, will take place. Six runners are coming out of the messy C.F Orr Stakes. First I thought I would quickly go into my thoughts about the C.F Orr Stakes. Even with the headwinds it was still run in slow time. So many runners we able to travel well within their comfort zones. That’s why we saw them all being able to sprint late. There was only 3.5L between first and last. Which is never a good sign. In my opinion, there are only two horses who I could back at their next start and that is Hartnell and ...

Miracle Mile night - full card preview

A brilliant night of pacing and trotting at Menangle on Saturday, with an Oaks, a Derby, quality juvenile races, a Free-For-All, a trot featuring an international vistor and of course the headline act, the Miracle Mile. Covering the whole card is racecalling prodigy Luke Humphreys,  @WorldRacingLuke . Prices are all from TAB at time of writing, unless stated. ------------------------------- Lexus of Macarthur Lady Drivers Invitational LR, 1609m, $25,000, Mobile, MO Race 1 Menangle 1817 AEST, 0717 BST 1 Taurisi  (3/1): Tasmanian that has been winning impressively down there. Two starts on the mainland and has drawn the outside fence each time. Complete opposite here and will be hoping to make the most of it. 2 Rave Moonraker  (11/1): Definitely consistent and has been a bit unlucky of late as his had the misfortune of not finding the peg line, and running into better horses than him, but still running very respectfully. Brave again in the heat two weeks...
